MARTA FAJLHAUER

Marta got into technology later in her life. She is passionate about increasing diversity in the tech industry and about sharing her passion for data with beginners. Marta Fajlhauer is founder and president of Diversity in Data Science society, organiser of QM Data Science Conference, freelance data analytics consultant, this year starting MSc Network science to specialise in the Dynamics of a Complex System and graphs databases.

RAINEY DAVID

Rainey David is an experienced Software Developer, PM, Management Consultant.  She worked as EMEA Project Manager at General Motors and a Software Developer at ADP, Toyota. She is certified in IT Service Management (ITIL), Software Testing (ISEB), Project Management (PRINCE2). 


Rainey studied her postgraduate in Advanced Computing at Kings College London, and is currently studying Big Data Science.  She obtained her first degree in Mathematics from Queen Mary, University of London.  She is a prize winner at Deloitte Digital, IBM, Techcrunch Start-up Weekend and many other hackathons.  She is passionate about promoting women in technology and has spoken at events including ThingMonk, Women Hack For Non Profits, Ladies Who Code (London).

CARMEN SU

Dr Carmen Su is a mathematical modelling PhD. In Fun with Kaggle event, she will show us how to build a predictive model with the dataset from competition website Kaggle.This dataset describes the sales of individual residential property in Ames, Iowa from 2006 to 2010, with 79 explanatory variables describing every aspect of residential homes. The goal is to predict the sales price for each house with regression techniques. Dr Carmen Su will explain her workflow and approaches to the problem with Python packages pandas and scikit-learn.

DAVID BOLAND

Currently lecturing Actuarial Science at Queen Mary. He is a highly experience actuary worked in companies such as Aviva, KPMG, Zurich Insurance etc. As well as volunteering as the life features editor for The Actuary at IFoA, David also is a member in actuarial working party. This time, he will present some known and unknown debates Data Science has within Actuarial work as an insider.

MICK COONEY

Michael is a Quantitative Analyst working primarily in data science roles in the insurance industry. His past works involve volatility forecasting for equity and equity index options, as well as some exposure to forecasting volatility for options on futures. At personal level, Michael is interested in encouraging further education in any and all aspects statistical analysis.

JOZEF MOFFAT

As a senior consultant at SAS, most of the time, Jozef provides specialist analytical consultancy using knowledge of analytics, machine learning and statistics in his work. This is to deliver value-based solutions and develop strategies and goals for their successful deployment.

ESAU MORENO

Esau Moreno, joined the Centre for Trauma Sciences at QMUL as a Data Manager in early 2017. Previously he was working for Cancer Research UK as a Precision Medicine Data Analyst. His current role within the group includes maintaining legacy data and record management systems for the C4TS and ensuring the robust, confidential and standardized collection and uploading of study participant data to trial databases, supporting group coordinators to manage their data and research study activities both at The Royal London Hospital and across international sites.

JIM WEBBER

Jim is the Chief Scientist at Neo4j working on next-generation solutions for massively scaling graph data. Prior to joining Neo4j, he was a Professional Services Director with ThoughtWorks where he worked on large-scale computing systems in finance and telecoms. Jim has a Ph.D. in Computing Science from the Newcastle University, UK.

Abhisek has 12 years of experience in Information Security.  His projects often focus on Risk Management, Security Transformation and Change, Security Audits. Aiming to understanding of strategic and operational risk in relation to the wider business, henceforth to achieve success in taking a pragmatic view to improving processes and adding value to the organisations.
